I know Islam is the truth, but not ready..
It’s important to know that converting to Islam, no matter the circumstances, is not only possible, but rather essential to find peace and tranquility, in this life and hereafter. Once belief in Islam has settled in your heart, the only practical step required to enter Islam is to say the two testaments of faith, the shahadatayn. This does not require any other parties to be present, or any sort of ritual to be performed; it is simply the verbal pronunciation of the belief in your heart. Many factors can cause hesitation regarding converting to Islam, such as being in a predominantly non-Muslim community, having family members opposed to it, 0r feeling overwhelmed by the rulings and obligations. However, all of these cases can be dealt with accordingly, and they are not a prerequisite that you have to overcome before converting. In fact, converting alone is a huge step that Allah will reward you greatly for, regardless of how well you can realize this faith in your situation. Of course, this is not to say that following the other teachings of Islam is not important, but Allah the Gracious, Compassionate and Merciful knows best your circumstances and challenges, and will guide you through this journey if you take the first step.
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Allah says: ‘“If the slave draws closer to Me by a hand-span, I shall draw closer to him by a cubit; and if he draws closer to Me by a cubit, I shall draw closer to him by the span of two outstretched arms. If he comes to Me walking, I shall come to him running.”
