How can I become a Muslim?

One of the most beautiful things about Islam is that you don’t need a channel between you and God. Becoming a Muslim is simply a matter of pronouncing the two testimonies of faith (shahadatayn), believing in their meaning.

These testimonies are “I testify that there is no God but Allah, and that Muhammed is the Messenger of Allah.” Once you understand their meaning and believe in them, say them in Arabic.

أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله، وأشهد أن محمدًا رسول الله. Ash-hadu an la ilaha illa Allah, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan Rasool ullah.

If you need help with pronouncing it, you can say it along with

to the best of your ability, but don’t worry about saying it perfectly ― Allah knows your limits and what’s in your heart.

Once you’ve said them, you are now a Muslim!

It is preferred to take a bath (ghusl) after converting to Islam, which is essentially washing your whole body with water once, making sure it reaches the roots of your hair and places it cannot reach easily, with the intent of purifying yourself from disbelief.
